Redefining Home in the Federated Earth (2070): A Speculative Design Inquiry into Belonging and Mobility

Team: Anuj Bhandare, Jonas Eisenhofer, Lena Kächele, Mercedes Emte, Vedika Mahamulkar

In a post-territorial world governed by an AI Flow Network, national borders have been replaced by resource citizenship. To solve the severe emotional dislocation resulting from constant transit, the project proposes the Ambient Anchor Core, a biometric device that records and streams the sensory fingerprint of home.

Future Context (2070)

By 2070, nation-states have dissolved into global transit networks. Mobile populations act as metabolism components of the planet, where citizenship is based on contribution (GCI) and housing is subscription-based. This borderless fluidity, however, causes severe emotional dislocation and erodes family roots.

Speculative Intervention

The Ambient Anchor Core captures the unique, non-commodified sensory footprint of a family's 'Anchor Home'—including olfactory signatures, micro-sounds, and thermal patterns. When traveling, a citizen can plug the biometric core into any temporary transit hub to project this sensory atmosphere and restore emotional stability.
